Raised in Appalachia and now based in Tennessee, Jeremy Chambers has been immersed in music from an early age. Some of his first memories involve falling asleep beneath his father’s Hammond organ during late-night rehearsals and gigs, surrounded by the sound and energy of live performance.

That early exposure quickly sparked a hands-on curiosity, leading him first to the drums and soon after to the guitar. Influenced by MTV and 1980s radio, Chambers developed an early aversion to synth-heavy pop, gravitating instead toward the raw tones of single-coil guitars after receiving his first Stratocaster at age ten.

As alternative rock reshaped mainstream music and gave voice to a generation’s anger and emotion, Chambers recognized the freedom to develop his own musical identity rather than follow existing trends. This realization fueled a deep exploration across genres over the next two decades, dramatically expanding his creative palette.

As life and creative demands evolved, Chambers transitioned into computer-based music production, discovering new possibilities through modern tools that allowed him to fully realize the sounds and ideas in his head — no longer limited by a single instrument. Ironically embracing the technology he once resisted, he now uses it to express his vision with complete freedom.

This journey ultimately led to the creation of The Royal Slack, a project rooted in experimentation, authenticity, and experience. The debut album draws from every stage of Chambers’ life, echoing the same passion that began during those late nights under his father’s Hammond organ.
